Taking over his new post as the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Ahmed Javed today said that the investigations in the Sheena Bora murder case will be monitored professionally.

Addressing media personnel, Javed said that his priorities will be maintaining law and order, security of women and children, and service to common man.

Speaking about the investigating team, he insisted that the team hasn't been removed. Javed added that all aspects of the case - financial or otherwise - shall be thoroughly investigated.

He also said, "The issue before us is that the case should be handled properly and evidences collected must be such that it becomes a complete case when it goes for trial."

Mumbai's new top cop also assured that police would aim to ensure safe and peaceful celebrations of the 10-day long Ganesh Chathurti festival starting on September 17, and the Bakri Eid festival.
