According to an Indian Express report, soon after he was released by a unit of the crime branch, the Kandivali police investigations branch summoned him for questioning late on Monday night.
Chintan allegedly met the absconding main accused, Vidyadhar Rajbhar, about a fortnight before his ex-wife's murder. The meeting allegedly took place at Chintan's parents' home in Jaipur.
Police believe that Rajbhar may have lured Hema and her lawyer to his warehouse on the pretext of showing them a video clip. Police say they suspect the video clip does not exist.
The bodies of Hema and Bhambhani were found wrapped in plastic in a drain in Kandivali on 12 December.
