SP leader Uzma Solanki booked for allegedly assaulting husband in Kanpur

Following a court directive, the police on 30 April, registered a case against a Samajwadi Party leader, who is also the sister of controversial SP MLA Haji Irfan Solanki, for allegedly assaulting and duping her husband.

Danish Sabir, the husband of SP leader Uzma Solanki has alleged that she and her family members assaulted and duped him.

A case has been registered against her father, brother and three other relatives as well, the police said.

According to the complainant, he was allegedly assaulted and threatened by his wife's father and brothers while they were on their way to Jajmau area in Kanpur, on 22 February.

He has alleged that the police did not lodge his complaint under the influence of his wife's family due to which he went to court to file the complaint.

The police have registered a case under sections 147 (rioting), 388 (extortion), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC against the accused. No arrest has been made so far and the matter is being probed.
