Samajwadi Party inducts Amar Singh and Beni Prasad Verma in national executive

The Samajwadi Party (SP) on late 16 July evening announced its 45-member national executive with party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav as the national president and newly-nominated Rajya Sabha members Amar Singh and Beni Prasad Verma nominated as new members.

Another newly-nominated Rajya Sabha member, Sanjay Seth, has been nominated as the new treasurer replacing Chandrapal Singh Yadav. National secretary Rajesh Dixit and member Javed Abdi have been dropped.

Ram Gopal Yadav would remain the national general secretary and spokesman of the party, whereas Kironmoy Nanda has been nominated as vice-president,

Cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh government Mohammad Azam Khan's name figures in the list of national general secretaries.

Mulayam's brother Shivpal Singh, Jaya Bachchan, and Balram Yadav, who was dropped from the Akhilesh Yadav government and subsequently re-inducted, have been nominated as members in the new committee.
