BSP supremo Mayawati rushed to Lucknow on 23 July to hold consultations with her party leaders and chalk out future course of action regarding expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh's derogatory remarks.

The BSP supremo arrived yesterday evening in the state capital and convened a meeting of party coordinators and other senior leaders to deliberate on the existing situation and decide future course of action, a senior party leader said.

She will address a press conference today and announce the future programme of the party. However, the 25 July protest programmes at all divisional headquarters, barring Lucknow were cancelled.

The party had given 36 hours ultimatum to the state police to arrest Singh during its 22 July protest in Lucknow and had on 24 July announced a protest on July 25 to press for his arrest.
