Ahead of the crucial Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections slated for next year, the BJP has announced a jumbo state executive, which includes sons of Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The party's state executive has 15 vice presidents, eight general secretaries, one treasurer, one assistant treasurer and 15 secretaries.

"The new executive is a mix of young blood and experienced leadership," a BJP leader said.

Kalyan Singh's son, Rajveer Singh Raju, and senior party leader Lalji Tandon's son and MLA Gopal Tandon have been included in the list of vice presidents.

Pankaj Singh, son of Rajnath Singh, has been made the general secretary, while BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak has been elevated as the general secretary.

Walking a tight rope to keep all sections of the party in good humour, state BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya retained newly-elected Rajya Sabha member SP Shukla in the executive.

MLA Rajesh Agarwal has been retained as treasurer, while Naveen Jain has been appointed as his deputy, a party leader said.
