4-year-old Dalit girl raped in UP's Hapur district, angry villagers block NH-24

In yet another incident of rape in Uttar Pradesh, a four-year-old Dalit girl was raped and abandoned by unidentified men in Hapur district.

Following the incident, the angry villagers blocked the National Highway-24 and demanded the arrest of the accused.

Law and order situation in UP seems to deteriorate day by day, recently the state has been rocked by a series of rape incidents and alleged Dalit killings.

The villagers also claimed that they tried calling the emergency number 100 but it was not reachable.

Senior police officials reached the spot and cleared the highway for traffic after assuring the villagers of action against the accused.

According to a Pradesh18 report, the family was sleeping outside their house and at around 1:30 AM when they found the girl was missing as they got up to go inside after it started raining.

After they started searching her, some family members found her lying uncomscious and naked near a tubewell in a forest, which was not far from their house.

The girl was admitted to a hospital in Meerut and a rape case has been registered and teams have been formed to nab the accused.
