Video: Olympic figure skating duo perform on Nagada Sang Dhol, win European championship
Bollywood, India's biggest export to the world, now has a new high to boast of. Our songs are helping people win championships abroad. And an ice figure skating championship at that.
Russion Sochi Olympic ice skating champions, Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov participated and won the recently-concluded European Figure Skating Championships in Slovakia. The two time Olympic winners, three-time Russian National champions, and four-time European champions, also happen to be married.
The duo, performed on a number from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2013 film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Nagada Sang Dhol and charmed the audience, and the judges with their spirited axels, chasses, toe loops and twizzles. All of this in sync with the energetic Gujarati garba beat of the song.
From So You Think You Can Dance to ice-skating championships, Bollywood songs seem to be conquering the world, one performance at a time at a time.
