My cousin, 9, is the most “effeminate” in the house. Let’s call him Little Cuz. Loves to paint nails, wear lipcolour, learn home science! Many people have trolled him for doing that and even called a little boy as ‘chakka’. What a disgraceful gesture of Twitterati that they can’t even spare a 9-year-old boy.

In such a house it takes constant work as elder cousins to undo the conditioned gender binary,normalise gender neutral acts which are deemed feminine. Update: Today, Little Cuz picked up his sister’s pink bicycle. Uncle ridiculed him for riding on a pink bicycle like a girl (bec that’s how petty my fam is). He retorts & says “Gender real nai hota. Kal mene aur bhaiya dono ne red lipstick lagaya tha didi ke saath. Aap puchlo” 😊

Update: On a video call w/ Little Cuz today he shows me all lipsticks in his mom’s room & says “I’ve tried all & picked my favourite shade”. Then he keeps phone down, takes 10 proper mins to meticulously put it on & shows me. His fav lipshade is maroon & fav nailcolor is blue! 🤗 pic.twitter.com/95Vkjx1Vf8

Well, he is just 9 and during this age, many children did such things. Sometimes parents also did their child for fun. However, many become rigid while thinking for other and some accepted easily.
