From 'surya namaskar' to 'asanas': When students got yoga break

Braving the rain, more than 1000 people took part in the International Yoga Day celebrations to make it a big hit.

The third International Yoga Day was celebrated at the campus of Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurugram with the participation of more than 500 students of 2017-2019 batch PGPM, PGP-HRM and PGP- IM as well as the faculty members and non-teaching staff.

The program was conducted by yoga expert Dr Navdeep Joshi, founder of Nav Yoga. He had conducted several Yog and meditation workshops in various corporate.

Students started the day by performing the "surya namaskar" with the purpose of purifying mind. They also performed various "asanas."

Speaking on the occasion, Dr C. P. Shrimali, Acting Director, MDI Gurugram shed some light on the benefits of yoga. He explained that a cool mind and a healthy body are the basic need of a human being and this can be achieved by doing yoga.

"It was a good experience for me as this will help me in managing stress," said a student, Ritika Singla.
