First-of-its-kind 'dry shampoo' to provide water-free option to cleanse hair

The leading organic beauty care company, Shahnaz Husain Group, on Sunday has launched a starch-based dry shampoo that provides a water-free option for cleansing hair by absorbing, dirt, grease and product build up when massaged through dry hair.

The target consumer segments are high and middle segment consumers, mainly men and women in the younger age-group, like teenagers and people in the 20 - 40 age group, which have a hectic and busy lifestyle, mainly in leading metropolitan cities .


While launching the new herbal products, Shahnaz Husain, the CMD of The Shahnaz Husain Group, said that the Ayurvedic Dry Shampoo contains plant ingredients in the form of aerosol sprays and has been launched in the domestic and the international market, offering consumers an instant hair makeovers without use of water.

The shampoo contains Rosemary essential oil and Tea Tree oil.

The Rosemary essential oil is said to help lengthen and getting rid of toxins.

It is also said to simulate hair growth and prevent hair problems, like dandruff.

It also contains natural cleansers, which absorb oil and impurities. It has cleansing properties similar to shampoos, but is slightly milder.

The product has been researched and developed by company's own R&D units and a 100 ml bottle is priced at Rs. 299.

The product is available at company outlets and through all other channels like general trade, modern trade and malls etc.

The herbal dry shampoo is used 12 inches away from scalp and cleanses the dull and life less hair instantly without water in three easy steps: spray into roots, massage into hair and brush to style.

Husain added that the dry shampoo is in the form of aerosol sprays is sprayed evenly on hair roots, by holding the bottle 12 inches away from the hair.
