US Air Force recently released a footage of sixth-generation jet. Although the power of the jet isn't clear yet, it is highly speculated that the jet has longer range, bigger payload and a possibility to switch a manned and an unmanned aircraft.

In the video footage, it is seen that the fighter jet, called F/X, fires a powerful laser that destroys another fighter jet into two halves. It is believed to travel at a hypersonic speed carrying hypersonic weapons.

It isn't clear as to who is going to develop this aircraft, but according to the official report, by 2030 its work can start.

In a statement Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) website, read, “In order to defend America, we need your help to innovate smarter and faster…Our warfighters depend on us to keep the fight unfair and we will deliver.”

It also added that the AFRL community will organise many events across the US this year, to interact with scientific communities, higher education and business professionals.

This video clearly shows that US Air Force plan of inserting a “brain” into current-generation fighter jets has been kicked. Incorporating "Loyal Wingman” initiative. Over the years the US has worked on this plan. In order to void casualties by using unmanned vehicles like Humvees which delivers supplies on dangerous routes.

The US has been working on this plan of mounting lasers on planes and jets since 2015. Even there were reports that the US government has spent $26.5 million for developing these jets.
