Mardan murder case: Pak anti-terrorism court gives life-sentences to convict

Historic judgement in Mardan murder case, a special anti-terrorism court on Monday announced life imprisonment to 15-year-old prime accused Muhammad Nabi. The convict has also been given a fine of Rs1 million.

This is a case of January 13, a minor girl from the Gujjar Garhi area in Mardan went missing and was later found dead the next day from nearby sugarcane fields. The postmortem report states that the four-year-old was raped and later killed.

The former Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Mehsud claimed, "The accused had unsuccessfully attempted rape before murdering the girl." A month later, the second cousin of the victim confessed in the court of murdering her.

Accused Muhammad Nabi

Mardan Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr Mian Saeed said, "The case was resolved by tracing a drop of blood on a leaf in the sugarcane field where the minor was killed,"
Saeed also shared that the fingerprint and traces of blood were found on the neck of the victim and even crime weapon was recovered and reports confirmed that she was killed by strangulation.
