Terrorists on 10 October attacked police party at Entrepreneur Development Institute (EDI) building in Pampore district, Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter between the security officials and terrorists is currently underway.

According to media reports, Search operation is underway and the area has been cordoned off.

Reports say two-three terrorists are holed up inside the EDI building, situated on the outskirts of Srinagar. The militants reportedly entered the government building at 6.30 am and set some portion of the 7-storey building on fire.

One soldier and one police official got injured in the attack. Some intermittent firing is still on.

"One soldier has been injured in the exchange of fire with militants holed up inside the building at Pampore," a defence spokesman said here.

He said further details were awaiting as the operation was in progress to flush out the militants.

A building within the premises had caught fire this morning, a police official said.

Fire tenders were rushed to the spot, but they were not allowed to enter the building due to security reasons, the official said.

In February also the same building was attacked as the terrorists had entered the EDI campus after ambushing a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) envoy and killing three people, which included two army officials and a civilian.
