Beirut blast: Scary videos of explosion go viral on social media: WATCH

After a massive explosion in Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Tuesday, several hair-raising videos have surfaced the Internet which showed major destructions everywhere. The explosion has left around 3,000 injured and several feared dead.

 


According to news agency AFP, two explosions were reported from the city’s port. As per the Associated Press, the first blast at a unit triggered a second explosion in a nearby building.

The Beirut explosion was so vicious that it had brought down huge structures and glass windows across the street in the area.


The whole incident was also captured on camera and shared by Lebanese media as well which showed several people trapped under debris.

 

Reports suggested that the explosions would have been caused due to the old explosive material in the building while some claimed that there were fireworks stored, which caused the blasts. However, the exact reason is yet to be ascertained.

 

Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab declared August 5 as a day of national mourning.

The blast has also affected the healthcare system because of the hospital beds crisis for the injured people as Lebanon already dealing with the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the rescue operations are underway to douse the fire and also rescue those trapped underneath the rubble.

According to India Today, Indian envoy in Lebanon, Suhel Ajaz Khan told that all Indian Embassy staffers are fine. He also said that they are in touch with the Indian community also who are living in Beirut.
