Watch video: Uttar Pradesh cops shout ‘thain thain’ to scare criminals after his revolver got jammed during an encounter

A team of police personnel have to shout ‘thain thain’ (the sound of firing) in order to scare a group of criminals after their revolvers got jammed during an encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district.

Sharing a video of the incident on its twitter account, the news agency ANI wrote “We will be staging a protest in true Gandhian style if there is any attempt to break the traditions and culture of the temple. We request her to pray in other AyyapPolice personnel shouts 'thain thain' to scare criminals during an encounter in Sambhal after his revolver got jammed. ASP says, 'words like 'maaro & ghero' are said to create mental pressure on criminals. Cartridges being stuck in revolver is a technical fault'. (12.10)”.


ASP said that these sounds are made to create mental pressure on the criminals. The police arrested one of the criminals after shooting him in his leg. In the encounter, a policeman was also injured.
