UP government teacher earns Rs 1 crore while teaching regularly in schools, probe ordered

A fraud case has come to notice in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) where a teacher has earned around Rs 1 crore as salaries for over a year.

The KGBV school is under the state basic education department. Reportedly, the teacher earned the whopping amount while working simultaneously in 25 schools for over a year.


The matter came to light when the department started creating a database of teachers.

According to the reports in India Today, the probe has been ordered against the teacher.

According to the basic education department, while creating the database of the teachers a record of a teacher was found who was employed at 25 different schools across districts in Uttar Pradesh.

The teacher has been identified as Anamika Shukla, who is a full-time teacher working in KGBV, was found an employee of 25 schools, simultaneously. The teacher's name was registered in districts such as Aligarh, Amethi, Prayagraj, Ambedkarnagar, Raebareli, and others.

Despite the digital database, the teacher managed to withdraw a salary of Rs 1 crore from the state basic education department for over 13 months until February 2020.

According to the records about the teacher with the department, Anamika Shukla hails from the Mainpuri district. Even the department has sent a notice to the accused but she has not responded to it.

After the fraudulent came to notice, the education department has withheld her salary with immediate effect.  The department also trying to find out that if she used the same bank account for the salary transfer from different schools.

UB basic education minister Dr. Satish Dwivedi told India Today TV that the department has ordered a probe into the matter and strict action will be taken against the teacher if she found guilty. Also, action will be taken if there is any involvement of any department officials.

Meanwhile, the department is gathering more facts about the teacher.
