Samajwadi Party workers forget National Anthem during flag hoisting ceremony; Sambit Patra takes a jibe at them
On August 15, the nation has celebrated its 75th Independence day. Several pictures and videos of I-day celebrations have surfaced on the Internet. However, one moment of sheer awkwardness was captured on camera which shows Samajwadi Party workers' blunder during the flag hoisting ceremony.
A video of Samajwadi Party MP ST Hasan and his supporters has surfaced on the Internet wherein he can be seen forgetting the lyrics of the national anthem on the occasion of Independence Day.
At the beginning of the video, Hasan and other party workers can be heard singing the national anthem, and soon they were left red-faced after they forgot the lines.
The embarrassing moment took place during the flag hoisting ceremony at the Gul Shahid Park in Moradabad on August 15.
After the video went viral on social media, BJP leader Sambit Patra also shared the video on his Twitter handle and took a dig at the SP workers for forgetting the verse of the ‘Jana Gana Mana’.
He captioned the video, “So finally they thought that the best way out of the mess that they had created was to quickly move on to “Jai hai” ..and then move out .. Waah Samajwadiyo Wah.”

In the video, Akhilesh Yadav’s party workers can be seen singing the national anthem and as soon as they reach the line- “Punjab Sindh Gujarat Maratha Dravida Utkala Banga” the workers started fumbling and looking at each other with embarrassment. After being failed to recite the lines of the national anthem, they directly skipped to the last verse and started singing, “Jaya Hai” thrice.
Later, Hasan slammed Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for polarizing people of Hindu and Muslim communities ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
