PNB Scam: Fugitive Nirav Modi’s current location has been traced; British authorities informs India

Bank fugitive Nirav Modi, who is still at large, his current location have been informed by the British authorities to India. The diamond jeweller Modi, who is wanted in the Rs 13,000 crore Punjab National Bank fraud is living in the United Kingdom, the Centre told to Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh said that the National Central Bureau of Manchester has informed to Indian agencies that the bank fugitive Nirav Modi is in the UK.


Earlier in August 2018, the Indian government has sent two requests one from the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate to the UK authorities for the extradition of Modi to India, Singh said.
VK Singh also told that the request under the consideration of the UK authorities.

In June, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had also written to several European countries for seeking help in tracing the fugitive Nirav Modi.
