Removing the ban on the report of the Muzaffarpur shelter home case, the Supreme Court said on Thursday that there cannot be a blanket ban on media coverage of the case in which several women inmates were allegedly rape and sexually abused.

A bench of Justices Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta overturned the order of the Patna High Court. The Patna High Court had put a ban on media reporting about the investigation in the case.
