Man lures minor girl on pretext of financial help, rapes her

In a shocking incident reported from Maharashtra’s Aurangabad, a 24-year-old man lured a minor girl on the pretext of helping her financially and allegedly raped her. The accused was paying a visit to his relatives in Sakhre Borgaon village when he saw the 11-year-old girl. The girl used to live next to the house of the accused's relative.

The accused, identified as Vikram Pawar, began casually talking to the minor girl and on Tuesday, the accused asked the girl to accompany him to the neighbouring field. Conscious of the minor’s poor pecuniary condition, the accused offered her a job and money.


According to The Times of India, The 11-year-old girl, who did not have any clue about the accused's intentions, followed the accused to the field where he allegedly raped her. Some of the villagers rushed to the field when the girl raised an alarm and arrested the accused.

Angry over the incident, the villagers brutally beat up the accused before handing him over to the police. The police registered a case against the accused on Tuesday.

A native of Vidyanagar of Beed, the accused was charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused was produced before a local court on Wednesday and was remanded to police custody.

Folowing the incident, enraged locals and women activists staged a protest. After the accused was taken to court, the office-bearer of NCP, Hema Pimpale, slapped the accused with a slapper.
