Indian Army dog Jaari becomes social media star, this is what he did

An Indian army dog, Jaari, has assested in finding out a vast cache of arms, ammunition and explosives concealed in Assam’s Panbari Reserve Forest, Jaari’s notable operation is gaining him a lot of applauds and love on the internet.

Jaari led the operation on Tuesday to find the cache of arms concealed by rebels belonging to National Democratic Front of Boroland, as per the ANI.


"A joint operation carried out by Chirang Police led by Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) with 5th Garhwal Rifles of Indian Army and 54 Batallion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in the general area of Gabrukhunda inside Panbari Reserve Forest, 18 kilometres north from Panbari PS" read an official release.

"Based on the lead given by source and led by Army tracker dog, digging was conducted at multiple places from yesterday 5 pm to 5:30 am on September 24," the statement said.

 

The Indian Army paid a Twitter homage to Jaari and shared a picture of the tracker bog and the arms that it helped find.

Many in the comment section have commended Jaari for his part in the operation.

In course of the operation, eight packets comprising items in plastic were found, unpacking them disclosed 20 rifles, 56 7.64 AK series ammunition, 20 snipers, 83 cartridges, four pistol magazines, 17 kg explosives and a radio set.
