IIT-Madras employee arrested for allegedly attempting to film student inside washroom

An IIT-Madras Project employee was take into custody for allegedly trying to film a student while she was inside the women’s washroom.

As specified by the police, the student had a suspicion that she was being recorded on film on Wednesday when she spotted a hole in the wall of the toilet and allegedly found the Project Officer identified as Subham Banerjee, on the other end.


The student then reported the matter to police.

The police paid a visit to the spot and apprehended the IIT-Madras staff based on the complaint registered by the women student.

Be that as it may, the police did not discover any video footage on the employee’s moblie phone that has now been sent for forensic scrutiny. Further probe is underway, the police said.
