The wife of the accused, identified as Shobha, is going through treatment at a hospital in Chevella. The accused Ramesh carried out the crime as his wife and her mother had allegedly blamed him for not working hard enough, according to The Times of India.

The accused was taken into police custody after K Ram Reddy, overseer of an agricultural field in Moinabad's Kethireddypally village, registered a complaint. Ramesh, the accused worked at the agricultural field of Reddy's employer.

Ramesh, a divorcee, had tied the knot to Shobha, who was also a divorcee, four years ago after he fell in love with her. Shobha has a son from her first husband. She also had another son with Ramesh two years before.
