Bangladesh girl 'raped', held captive in Bengaluru

In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old girl from Neibhouring Bangladesh was allegedly raped and kept captive in the Yelahanka area of Bengaluru. The matter came to fore after the girl managed to escape from the spot and reported to a police station.

According to reports, the victim, who is a resident of Bangladesh had reached a railway station in West Bengal. She came to Bengal in a boat, the victim told the police.


At the railway station, the victim met a woman, who promised her to get a job with a good salary and took her to Bengaluru. Later, the woman forcefully sent her to a room where a man allegedly raped her and kept her captive in the room for four days. She had also allegedly forced the victim to become and sex worker and also offered Rs 60,000 per month.

According to a police official, a woman asked her to attend to at least five men in a day.

However, she managed to flee from the room and approached a passerby about the police control room. Later, the police rescued her and took her Kattigenahalli police station. On Wednesday she was brought to the police station.

She told police that her parents work as daily workers in Bangladesh.

On the other hand, the police have launched a manhunt to nab the unidentified man and the woman.
