Assam: ‘Cruel’ father arrested for throwing his two minor children in pond

In a shocking incident came to light from Assam where a father killed his two children by throwing them in a pond on Tuesday.

Police have arrested the accused of committing a crime in Dalgaon Ruhinikash village of Darrang district in Assam. As per media reports, the man identified as Nazrul Islam threw his 5-year-old son Iyadul Hussain and 4-year-old daughter Nur Sahida after a family dispute.
Islam threw his children in a pond located about 100 meters away from his house.

Soon after the incident, the family started searching for children. After some time, the local villagers found the body of two in the pond.

The locals immediately rushed the hospital where doctors pronounced them dead.

The village headman said, "When we asked the father of the missing minors, he said that he killed the minors by throwing them in the pond. Later, we found the minors in the pond."

The father of the two has confessed to the crime following which Police arrested him.
