From Captain America to Ant Man, which superhero rocked the Indian Box office?

The movie Captain America: Civil War, hits cinema screens today.

Another much-anticipated superhero film, Captain America is all about being accountable for the collateral damage caused by the action of the avengers. The new status- quo deeply divides the members of the team into two different groups: One supporting the government's interference and the other believes that the superhero should remain free to defend humanity.

While the fate of this latest Hollywood film in India is yet to be decided, here's a list of four superhero movies recently released in India and how they fared at the Box Office:

Dead pool (2016)

Wade Wilson is a former Special Forces Operative who works as a mercenary. His world shatters to pieces when an evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Dead pool. The rogue experiment leaves Dead pool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Dead pool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

India Box Office: Rs 30 crore

Batman VS Superman (Dawn of justice) (2016):

After the Colossal battle between Superman and Zid, the city of Metropolis is left damaged and devastated. This convinced Bruce Wayne that Superman is now a threat to humanity. Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end Superman's reign on earth.

India Box Office: Rs 45 crore

Ant Man (2015)

Forced out of his own company by former protégé Darren Cross, Dr Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) recruits the talents of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a master thief just released from prison. Lang becomes Ant-Man, trained by Pym and armed with a suit that allows him to shrink in size, possess superhuman strength and control an army of ants. The miniature hero must use his new skills to prevent Cross, also known as Yellow jacket, from perfecting the same technology and using it as a weapon for evil.

India Box Office: Rs 11 crore

Fantastic Four (2015)

Transported to an alternate universe, four young outsiders gain superhuman powers as they alter their physical form in shocking ways. Reed Richards becomes Mr Fantastic, able to stretch and twist his body at will, while pal Ben Grimm gains immense strength as the Thing. Johnny Storm becomes the Human Torch, able to control and project fire, while his sister Sue becomes the Invisible Woman. Together, the team must harness their new abilities to prevent Doctor Doom from destroying the Earth.

Box Office: Major flop (Marvels didn't release the official figures)
