Grammy Awards 2016: Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift win trophies, Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga win hearts

Speed News Desk | Updated on: 14 February 2017, 5:41 IST

Taylor Swift's 1989 and Mark Ronson-Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk may have taken home the trophy, but Grammys 2016 definitely will be remembered for Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga's soul-stirring performances. While the former showed up on stage with him and his backup dancers chained and bound by handcuffs. Try as they might, the popstars of African American descent seem hellbent on reminding everyone about police brutality, till something gets done about it.

The other highlight of the evening, apart from Taylor Swift's strike-down of Kanye West's derogatory song lyrics about her, was Lady Gaga's epic David Bowie tribute. With flaming red hair and a voice to match, Gaga slayed while the world could only look on and be awed.p>

Adele, the reigning queen of the world, encountered a bit of 'microphone trouble' but was memorable just the same. Obviously. Demi Lovato reminded the world that before Adele, someone else had us at 'Hello'. Her rendition of Lionel Richie's hit classic shall for years to come be remembered as the world's favourite Demi-moment.
