Batman V Superman: Superheroes overshadow Rocky Handsome at Indian Box Office

The much-anticipated Batman V Superman recorded a stellar start at the Indian Box Office as the film raked in around Rs 9 crore on its opening day, 25 March.

The film is India's second biggest Box Office opener of 2016 after Akshay Kumar's Airlift which raked in Rs 12.35 crore on its opening day.

The superhero film has performed exceptionally well at the metros with the best collections coming in from Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Though the film has met with negative reviews from the critics, the hype surrounding the film is bound to help it sustain its collections over the weekend.

Day-Wise Box Office Collections:

  • Paid Preview: Rs 3.50 crore
  • Day One (25 March): Rs 9.00 crore
  • Total: Rs 12.50 crore

The film is the third biggest opener of all time for a Hollywood film in India after Fast and Furious 7 (Rs 16.75 crore) and Avengers Age of Ultron (Rs 10.85 crore).
