Sultan television ratings: Salman Khan film highest in 2016 but fails to beat PRDP

Salman Khan's Sultan which premiered on Set Max and Set Max HD on 16 October, 2016, recorded 1,13,10,000 impressions, according to BARC ratings.

The YRF film - also starring Anushka Sharma in the lead - recorded the highest TVT ratings for a film that released in 2016. However, it failed to surpass the all-time record set by Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The television ratings of Sultan are 15% higher than the previous best of the year, Dishoom.

Sultan was competing with two more Salman Khan films on television. While Bajrangi Bhaijaan was aired on Star Gold, Hum Aapke Hai Koun was screened on Zee Cinema at the same time.

Sultan is ranked fifth on the list of top 5 premieres of all time after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Baahubali: The Beginning and Singh Is Bliing.
