Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand landed in Delhi on Monday, 8 February, after taking a flight from London the previous day for a short trip to the Indian capital.

Ferdinand, who is being accompanied by former Premier League footballer Robbie Savage, is in Delhi as part of a The Supporters Club (charitable initiative of British football broadcaster BT Sport) campaign, will visit a local school on Tuesday, 9 February.

The former English footballer will have an interactive session with young footballers at the Pathways School in Gurgaon, where an Arsenal Soccer Schools centre is based.

"BT, through The Supporters Club, has helped thousands of youngsters to improve their lives through the power of sport around the world, including in India.

"I have heard lots about the work of the projects we will be visiting in Delhi and can't wait to meet the youngsters and those who work to support them," Ferdinand had told reporters prior to the visit.
