Four-time English champions Manchester City have announced Pep Guardiola as the next manager of the club. The club made the announcement on their official website on Monday, 1 February.
Guardiola, who has won the Champions League twice with Barcelona, is currently into his third year at Bayern Munich, with his contract set to expire at the end of this season. The Spaniard will take over the reins at City before the beginning of next season.
This means that Manuel Pellegrini, who led City to the Premier League title during his first season at the club in 2013-14, will step aside from his role at the end of the ongoing season.
Guardiola's contract at City will last till the end of the 2018-19 season.
