Borussia Dortmund extended their unbeaten run against Real Madrid at the Signal Iduna Park to six games , as a late goal from Andre Schurrle saw the match end in a 2-goal-each draw.

Raphael Varane's second goal goal almost saw Madrid home with a win, but Schurrle levelled the goal three minutes from finish time.

Borussia Dortmund were riding high on confidence as they had won four games in a trot - including a 6-0 thrashing of Legia Warsaw in their Group F opener. However, Madrid came off two consecutive domestic draws.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the early goal in the 17 minute giving them a lead in the game. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his seventh goal of the season as Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas made a slight error resulting in Dortmund goal.

In the last few minutes both sides came close to a win but Roman Burki (Dortmund goalkeeper) and Keylor Navas (Real Madrid goalkeeper) did an excellent job by keeping the ball at bay.

Commenting on the result of the match, an internatinal news agency quoted Zidane as saying, "I am gutted for the players, we didn't deserve that. In the end it's not a bad result but, playing like that, gutted."

Schurrle after the win said, "It's a good feeling to come back twice against Real Madrid. It will help the team grow together."
