The inspiring journey of Hockey player Rani Rampal who led India to victory in Asia Cup

Rani Rampal is very happy with her achievements. She is more happy on qualifying for the World Cup. She said that she was confident that the team will perform well in women's Asia Cup in Japan. "Wherever we needed improvement in the game, we made those improvements. Our team played well as a unit. Our goal was to qualify for the women's Asia Cup in London, performing well in Asia Cup in Japan," said the talented player.

Rani has been awarded with Arjuna and Bheem Awards. Rani once told that she was not financially good as there was no money to even by a hockey stick for herself. But her dreams for playing hockey for Indian team took her to accomplish her goal. After seeing her dedication towards game, her father put her in the village's academy. Due to her brother, who is a carpenter, and with the efforts of her father, her practice continued. Dronacharya award winner Baldev Singh used to run the Academy.

Rani gives all the credit to her father as he helped her to realize the dream of playing hockey. Once, Rani had said that, "I am thankful to coach Baldev Singh for my every achievement. There was a time when my family had not been able to raise money, my coach had given a hockey stick in my hand. I am thankful to him." Whereas, her coach always says that Rani keep her eye on victory and it does not make any difference despite of the fact how stronger the opponent team is.

At the age of fourteen, Rani became the youngest player to debut at international level. When she was 15 years old, she was the youngest player in the World Women's Cup in 2010. She also smashed seven goals in the Quadrillional Tournament. It was Rani's decisive goal against England that helped team India to win bronze medal in the Hockey Junior World Cup. On the basis of her performance in hockey, Rani secured a clerk job in the Indian Railways.
