Yoga guru and Patanjali founder Ramdev and Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Vijay Goel, on Tuesday, discussed ways to promote yoga among the youth and sportspersons to boost their skills and concentration.

Interacting with the media, Baba Ramdev said, "Yoga is a source of power and enables us to concentrate better in our respective fields. If sportspersons or youngsters take it up, it will surely enhance their skills and we will be able to win big in the global arena".

Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel stated that Baba Ramdev has popularised yoga and is a leading icon who encourages the youth of the nation. "I feel delighted to have Baba Ramdev among us today, and I'm sure we will work together in some regard to boost sports as well as youth affairs in India."

Goel added that Yoga has already gained prominence on the world stage with the efforts of PM Modi and we can devise strategies to boost it as a competitive discipline after discussing all its aspects and how competitors will be graded accordingly.

Goel also shared his idea that Yoga must be a part of daily training for sportspersons, and this will boost their endurance levels and concentration.

"We will give this message to all our Sports Authority of India centres," Goel added. He also mentioned that the sports ministry will explore various ways to conduct competitions among the youth on "yoga asanas" so that they not only connect with their roots but also preserve this art for future generations as it is an intrinsic part of our culture.
