UPTET 2019 Exam: ALERT! December 22 exam postponed due to CAA protests; read details

Due to the violent protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Uttar Pradesh, the UPTET exam that was scheduled to be held on December 22, 2019, has canceled, says reports. The new date for the UPTET exam will be released on the official website at updeled.gov.in.

As per the reports, the Uttar Prades’s Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Basic Education department, Renuka Kumar has issued a notice about the examination date postponed.


Reports suggested that Uttar Pradesh Teachers’ Eligibility Test (UPTET) exam is expected to be held in January 2020. Over 16 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the UPTET December exam but due to the aggressive protest against CAA across the state, the UPTET exam has postponed to the next date.

UPTET exam is held for the eligibility test that makes the qualifying candidates eligible for the teaching jobs in Uttar Pradesh schools.

The Uttar Pradesh Board will conduct the UPTET exam in two sessions i.e. UPTET Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Due to the ongoing protest, not only UP TET but also Assam had canceled its Assam TET exam which was also scheduled for December 22 and the new date for the exam is January 19, 2020.
