Sales, marketing & consulting rule the roost at IIM-Lucknow summer placements 2016

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has wrapped up its summer placements 2016 process for its PGP batch of 458 students. About 151 domestic and international recruiters participated in the four-day-long placement process.

The top four segments based on roles offered include:

  1. Sales & marketing

  2. Consulting

  3. Finance

  4. Business development

According to a release from the institute, 30% roles were offered in sales and marketing domain and 25% in consultancy. Remaining offers came from operations/supply chain, general management, systems/IT, market research, analytics and HR domains.

Here's a break-up of top segments based on roles offered:

Sales & marketing : 30%

Consulting : 25%

Finance : 20%

e-Commerce : 15%

Systems/IT : 5%

General management : 5%

Top recruiters across sectors were Accenture, Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, AT Kearney, BCG, Deutsche Bank, Edelweiss, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, RPG, TAS and Uber.

First time recruiters for IIM Lucknow were ABinBev, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Duff and Phelphs, Master Card Advisors and Morgan Stanley. International profiles were offered by ABinBev, Deutsche Bank and Hindustan Unilever.

In the FMCG, consumer goods, telecom and digital media sectors a total of 140 offers were made with some of the top firms being ABinBev, Airtel, Asian Paints, Colgate Palmolive, Dabur, Hindustan Unilever, HT Media, ITC, L'Oréal, Mondelez, Marico, Nestle, P&G, Pepsi, Samsung & Star TV.
