Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) results 2016 may not be declared by 15 October. According to emerging reports, the result has been postponed to November 2016. Catch is yet to receive an official communication from Railway officials for the same.

Last month, Anil Kumar Saxena, Additional DG (PR) of Railways told Catch that no dates have been officially declared by the Railway Board. However, the RRB NTPC 2016 results will definitely be declared by the first fortnight of October.

However, contradictory reports emerged after RRB Ajmer Chairman RK Jain told a leading Hindi daily that the results will be declared in the month of November. "Position will be updated again in next 15 days time," a notice on various RRB regional websites state.

Moreover, despite assurances of an official communication, no notification clarifying the date of results has been published on any regional RRB websites.

With 96 lakh applicants, out of which 56 lakh candidates appeared, RRB NTPC is one of the largest examinations held across the world. The exam was conducted on 28 March to 3 May across 1192 centres in India.

After RRB NTPC Stage 1 exam results are out, selected candidates will have to appear for Stage 2 exam, which is expected to be held in November. Details of the same will be declared soon. Stage 2 exam will be Computer Based Test (CBT) test where candidates need to attempt 120 multiple-choice-objective type questions in 90 minutes. The syllabus includes: General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning.

About 2,73,780 lakh candidates are expected to qualify for the Stage 2 / Mains exams. A total of 18,252 vacancies for RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories 2016 were earlier declared.
