Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited application for admission to its PhD and M.Phil. programmes.
The admission process for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will begin from 23 January on the official website of the varsity. The application form for PhD and M.Phil programmes will be available on the official website of IGNOU by tomorrow.
The varsity has officially announced admission for PhD and M.Phil. programmes for July 2018.
According to the reports, the entrance test for IGNOU's various courses will be held on 4th March 2018. The exam will be held at the selected examination centres across the country. As per the official website, the last date for submission of application form is 16th February 2018.
The applications form are invited for the various subjects like Political Science, Geography, Translation Studies, M.Phil. In Sociology, Social Work, Commerce, Distance education and Chemistry.
Candidates who are applying for M.Phil. in Economics would not be mandatory to appear for the entrance exam, rather they should be eligible according to the criteria available on the varsity official website.
While PhD programmes application form will be available for these subjects only: Anthropology, Sociology, Library and Information Science, Political Science, History, Geography, Women's Studies, Geology, Gender and Development, Food and Nutritional Sciences, Environmental Studies, Life Sciences, Commerce, Hindi, Distance Education, Nursing, Social Work, Physics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Public Administration, Statistics and Translation Studies.
Likewise, M.Phil., Biochemistry, Life Sciences disciplines and Physics would not require entrance exam and would be based on the basis of the eligibility criteria set by the IGNOU.

According to the reports, the online portal for the admission to M.Phil and PhD programmes will be operational from 23 January 2018.
