Delhi's Aam Admi Party (AAP) government has announced a package of Rs 1 crore for the kin of the government school teacher who was stabbed to death on 26 September.
Two Class 12 students of a government school in West Delhi's Nangloi area allegedly stabbed their teacher on 26 September. The teacher was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred at the school premises at around 5pm. Mukesh Kumar, a Hindi teacher, was stabbed three times by two Class 12 students - including one who had been recently expelled due to low attendance.
"We have announced a package of Rs 1 crore for the family of the teacher. The two students have been taken into custody by police. The next course of action will now be decided by the government," a Delhi government official told Catch.
Manish Sisodia, Delhi's Deputy CM tweeted saying: "Loss of the teacher's death cannot be compensated. The government has extended a financial help of Rs 1 crore to the affected family."

Atishi Marlena, advisor to Deputy CM also tweeted about the incident.
Students hadn't been rusticated from the school. They were on schools rolls. Reason behind crime to be investigated https://t.co/yLJJFaEha6— Atishi Marlena (@AtishiMarlena) September 26, 2016
