In a shocking incident, the wife and daughter of IAS officer BK Bansal allegedly committed suicide in their Mayur Vihar residence in Delhi on 19 July.

According to reports, both of them were found hanging to a ceiling fan. The police has also reportedly recovered 2 suicide notes from Bansal's residence which allegedly mentioned his arrest as the cause of the suicide.

This comes three days after Bansal, Director General, Corporate Affairs, was arrested on bribery charges on 16 July.

CBI, during its search of the eight locations in connection with the case, claimed to have recovered over Rs 56 lakh from Bansal, while Rs 16 lakh was recovered from Delhi-based middle man Vishwadeep Bansal, PTI reported.

DG Bansal was caught red handed accepting a bribe of Rs 9 lakh.

Bansal, senior administrative grade officer of Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS), was promoted to the post of Director General of Corporate Affairs (DGCA) last year.
