Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Balyan was arrested today by the Delhi Police in an assault case.
Earlier on 10 October, an FIR was filed on by a former AAP volunteer against Balyan at west Delhi's Uttam Nagar police station.
In his FIR, former AAP volunteer and president of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Mohan Garden area, Henry George had accused Balyan and his associates of trespassing his office, attacking him and issuing threat to his life.
A case was registered against Balyan under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 451 (assault) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
After the case was registered against Balyan, his supporters had also lodged a cross-FIR against George and a case under sections 323, 341 and 506 of the IPC was registered against him.
