AAP accuses Najeeb Jung of spying for PM Modi

On 7 June, the Aam Aadmi Party alleged that Lt Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung was a spy for the Prime Minister's office (PMO).

"LG is acting like a spy for the Prime Minister's Office. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to destabilise the Delhi government," The Statesman quoted AAP leader Sanjay Singh as saying.

"Modi government and LG's office is leaving no stone unturned to make life difficult for people of Delhi. We are performing well in the departments which are with Delhi government. Modi government is responsible for deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi as police here does not report to the AAP government," Singh said.

His comments came in response to a complaint filed by Jung, alleging that IRSE officer SK Nagarwal was found working with the Home Minister of the Delhi government while on study leave from the Railways.

Following the complaint, the Ministry of Home Affairs asked Kejriwal's government to furnish details of all officers on deputation with the Delhi Government.

However, Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain denied all allegations and termed Jung's accusations as baseless.
