Delhi: Betel shop owner beats Class 9 student to death in Mayur Vihar

Rajat Menon, 15, was allegedly beaten to death by a betel shop owner in Mayur Vihar, NDTV reported.

The incident occurred when Rajat was returning from tuition classes along with his two friends when he got into a heated argument with the shop owner. Following the argument, the shopkeeper along with some of his friends allegedly attacked Rajat.

However, according to a report in Times of India, the alleged attackers later took Rajat to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Rajat's family claims that after Rajat's friends informed them about the incident, they searched the hospitals nearby and found him at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and informed the police, Times of India reported.

Police are waiting for the postmortem report. According to reports there is no visible sign of external injuries
