Yuvraj Singh celebrated his 37th birthday on December 12 and wishes poured in for him from around the world. One such wish was from Indian opener Rohit Sharma. Sharma wished Yuvraj on his Twitter timeline and wrote, “Happy Birthday to the eternal superstar @YUVSTRONG12.” To which Yuvraj Singh replied with a threatening message and wrote, “And next time you get out at 37, I will catch hold of your neck like this again!” referring to Rohit Sharma’s careless batting performance against Australia in Adelaide Test.

Rohit Sharma got out after hitting three sixes in his 37 runs 61 balls knock. Rohit Sharma has been left out of the second Test being played at Perth Test. R Ashwin is also out of the team due to injury after taking 6 wickets in the first Test. In the second Test, Australia are at 138-3 after both the openers made a half-century each with Marcus Harris making 70 off 141 balls and Aaron Finch making 50 off 105 balls. Usman Khawaja got out at just 5 runs off Umesh Yadav’s ball giving a catch to wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant.

Virat Kohli and company won the first Test match against Australia in Australia and made a record by becoming the first Indian team to win the first Test match down under. The Indian team won the match by 31 runs to lead the series by 1-0.

It was India’s third closest Test win after winning a Test against Australia in Mumbai by 13 runs and then in Kolkata by 28 runs against England in 1972-73. India is the second Asian side to win the first Test of a series in Australia after Pakistan.
