Former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Kiran More is celebrating his birthday today. More is regarded as one of the best keeper-batsman India has ever seen. More has pulled off many wicket-keeping marvels that are still considered as one of the best. More with amazing reflexes and his electric glovework meant that he was among the elites at that time.

There is this one incident that is regarded as the keeping of the century. More pulled off a miracle that nobody has dared to do something like that.

During an ODI match between India and New Zealand at Trent Bridge 1990, Kiran More dismissed David Gower in the most unexpected way possible. David Gower was comfortable batting with his partner Mike Atherton. Gower had 30-ball 25 runs including six fours. When Atherton pushed a ball to the cover, Mohammed Azharuddin threw it back to More, who gathered the ball in his left leg.

There was no question of a single, More however noticed that Gower at the other end is out of the crease and threw the ball directly on stumps removing the bails.

Kiran More played 49 Test matches for India scoring 1285 runs at an average of 25.70, while he played 94 ODIs and scored 563 runs at an average of 13.09. In July 2019, he was appointed in a senior consultancy role for the United States national cricket team.
