West Indies wicketkeeper - batsman Denesh Ramdin - was left frustrated after he was left out of the squad for the upcoming four Test series against India, starting 21 July in Antigua.

Ramdin took to social media expressing his displeasure at being overlooked for the team selection. According to him, the new chairman of selectors, Courtney Browne, said his batting average was not good enough.

According to a report in NDTV, the West Indies wicket-keeper was served with an unspecified punishment for venting his frustration in public, the West Indies Cricket board announced in a statement.

Ramdin was a member of the One-Day International squad which finished runners-up in the Tri-Nation series with winners Australia and South Africa.

Jerome Taylor, who has played 46 tests for the West Indies, taking 130 wickets, was left out of the squad as well.
