Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was known for his aggressive stance. Ganguly worked as a game changer in the Indian team. In the captaincy of Ganguly, the Indian team has achieved many feats. Ganguly did not leave any chance to dominate opponents on the field. Under the captaincy of Ganguly in 2003, the Indian team had reached the final of the World Cup. It is a different matter that he had to face defeat in Australia in the final. In 2005, ODI series was being played between India and Pakistan. During that time, the Indian team captain Sourav Ganguly and Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Yousuf started to hear about something on the field. Actually, Pakistani team was batting at that time. Yousuf was present on the crease to bat from Pakistan's side.

The Pakistani team was taking a lot of time while batting. Yousuf first took a break time for drinks and immediately called on physio to the ground after he suffered an elbow injury. Ganguly looked at this sight for a long time, but when the matter went out of his favor, he told Yusuf, “You have to rest as much as you can. I'm not talking about you, I'm not saying that you are doing something deliberately. Just relax and note your time just”.

In fact, India had to bowl fifty of their over in the scheduled time-overs of the innings. If he took more time than, then the captain of the team i.e. Ganguly had to pay the fine. This was the reason why Ganguly began explaining Yousuf on the field. From 8 March to 17 April, Pakistan came to India to play Test and ODI series. Where the Test series was drawn, Pakistan won the ODI one-dayer.
