Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody has said he was ready to travel to Pakistan if his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Multan Sultans, made it to the final stages of the upcoming third edition of the tournament.

The head coach of Multan Sultans said he was hopeful his team would qualify for the finals of the PSL, and that they would get the opportunity to play at both venues of Karachi and Lahore.

"Yes, I'll be joining the team for the games in Pakistan. Hopefully, we will qualify for the finals and get the opportunity to play at both venues - Karachi and Lahore," the Dawn quoted Moody, as saying.

Insisting that his side were a perfect blend of experienced and young players, Moody remained confident that Multan Sultans would surely be competitive throughout the entire tournament.

The 52-year-old added, "I think the team that manages to adjust and gets its balance early on in the tournament will obviously find themselves ahead at the end of the tournament."

When quizzed if Pakistan fans will get to see international stars in action in their country anytime soon, Moody said the comfort level of the players to travel to the country would surely improve with time.

"I think the trust level of the players to travel to Pakistan is going to improve over time. More and more players are getting comfortable with the idea [of playing in Pakistan] and I think it will only increase over time," the former Australian player said.

The upcoming third edition of the PSL will feature six teams for the first time. A total number of 34 matches will be held, including 10 games to be organised in Lahore and Karachi.

The third edition of the PSL is set to begin on 9 February next year.
