Prime Minister Narendra Modi's admiration on micro blogging site Twitter is still intact. After becoming one of the most follow-up Indians on Twitter a year ago, PM Modi has seen an increase of 51% in the Twitter followers this year. The number of people who follow PM Modi has reached 37.5 million.

According to a report of Times of India, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli made a place in Top Ten Twitter Celebs, but this year actress Priyanka Chopra and composer A.R. Rehman have been out of this list.

This year, the GST, PM Modi's radio program 'Man Ki Baat', the presidential election, and a year of note-ban were top trending topics.

Twitter India Country Director Taranjeet Singh said, “While the PM retained the number one position, the introduction of cricket stars Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli in the top 10 list was notable.”

Film actor Akshay Kumar has increased the number of his followers in the year strongly, even then PM Modi has surpassed the actor. Akshay Kumar's followers has increased 52% this year, while Aamir Khan's followers have increased by 18%.

When south actor Suraiya Sivakumar released the second look of her Tamil film 'Thaana Serndha Kootam' on Twitter, her tweet became the most retweeted tweet of 2017 so far.
